THE HEMP BAN, EXPLAINED

What’s Actually Changing?

The 2018 Farm Bill made hemp federally legal and created new opportunities for farmers, makers, retailers, and adult consumers across the country.

Beginning December 11, 2026, a new federal definition will limit final hemp-derived products to just 0.4 milligrams of total THC per container. That would cause Highlandia and many other products legally available today to lose their status as hemp.

We support smart rules that keep hemp safe and responsible. What we don’t support is a limit that leaves almost no room for the industry to exist.
